Monday Myth Debunkers: We Need to Know Acting is Your #1 Focus.

Let’s call this one exactly what it is…

A big. Fat. 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, we want you to be human first and actor second.

For many of you, acting comes 4th or 5th in your life.

𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙊𝙆.

Acting does NOT need to be your #1 priority or focus in life in order to have a successful acting career 🤯

It IS possible to wear multiple hats and have various things you are passionate about.

Something we hear a lot is “will casting take me seriously if I also do stunt work?”

To that, we ask, do you have an acting reel? Are you actively training in your (acting) craft?

Then by all means, (fake) jab your heart out.

To clarify, having stunt experience or a stunt reel does not make us think you’re not serious about acting.

𝗔𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹.

The same goes for any other skill you may have that’s apparent on your resume: dancing, sports, hosting, singing, etc.

We know that actors are artists. And that artists have multiple ways of expressing themselves.

In fact, having multiple areas of interest (whether it be another artistic endeavor or being a loving family member) makes you a STRONGER actor.

Living life to the fullest is what makes your acting 𝙍𝙄𝘾𝙃𝙀𝙍.

Go do the damn thing(s).
